Domestic Assistant

Dementia and Aged Care Services (DACS) is a progressive, not-for-profit organisation providing a comprehensive and bespoke suite of world-class aged care services. We are seeking passionate Domestic Assistants to join our community care team on a Casual basis for our Goulburn region. This role provides a range of high-quality domestic services tailored to support clients within the community who require assistance with everyday duties in their own homes.

You will play a meaningful role in promoting the retention of existing life skills, supporting clients to lead a valued life, and enabling them to remain living safely in their own home.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide client-focused domestic assistance and social support while upholding the client's cultural independence and dignity.
  • Undertake routine cleaning tasks, Tasks include but not limited to cleaning high touch point areas such as toilets and kitchen; sweeping or vacuuming; mopping; dusting; changing bedsheets; washing, drying, ironing and folding clothes; washing walls and windows; and other duties as requested.
  • Assist clients with unaccompanied shopping and meal preparation.
  • Apply hygiene, infection control, and safe cleaning procedures.
  • Maintain clear communication, document regular progress notes in the system, and escalate any concerns in a timely manner.
  • Undertake any other duties as reasonably required or directed as service needs change.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated experience in a similar role (experience in aged care or community settings is highly desirable).
  • Good level of physical fitness with an ability to complete repetitive tasks for extended periods.
  • Superior time management and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work autonomously with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, alongside proficiency in using digital applications and smart phones.
  • Current Australian Driver's License.
  • Roadworthy and registered vehicle with full comprehensive car insurance.
  • A smart phone and willingness to use it for work purposes.
  • Current National Police Certificate clearance (and willingness to renew it every 3 years).
